Pastor Barbara Mann

Barbara J. Herron Mann is an anointed, gifted, and passionate servant of God and His Church. She credits the late Superintendent David Howard, her first pastor, along with her parents, Lethonia and Peter Herron, with providing the foundation for her life and ministry.

As the oldest of eleven children, with a father plagued by alcoholism, family struggles inspired a heartfelt ministry with a focus on “Healing for the Hurting.” A Spirit-filled, praying mother exemplified a relentless prayer posture, along with her insistence that the children pray for their father, which yielded great results. Fifteen years before Peter Charles Herron passed away, he was healed of alcoholism and received the Lord Jesus Christ in his life.

For over 40 years, Mrs. Mann devotedly served in the ministry of Pentecostal Temple with her husband, the late Bishop Loran Edward Mann, Founder-Senior Pastor of the church. She is the founder of the Word Alive Bible Ministry, a weekly Bible study group. She was also the originator of the Council of Christian Women, which focuses on resolving women’s issues through biblical perspectives.

A licensed evangelist missionary of the Church of God in Christ, she was intimately involved in the global ministry of the Church as she instructed thousands of pastors’ wives attending national conventions. Barbara Mann, also known for her anointed singing, delights in sharing spiritual songs that bring life and light to her audiences.

She attended Youngstown University majoring in French, English, and Education, and graduated from Hiram College of Hiram, Ohio, with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science.

Her children, Tiana and Loran II, bring a twinkle in her eye, as they share their ministry gifts in the ministry of music and the Word.

“To the one who started this process long before I had a clue, to the one who has walked with me, talked with me, taught me, corrected me, but most of all, in the good times and the bad times, loved me through it all, my husband, the father of our children, our Pastor, our Bishop, Loran Edward Mann, we will love you forever!”
